The outdoor area of Marcanti College lies in a broad perimetre around its building. It touches upon several areas like a city thoroughfare, a town square, a parking lot and a grassy footpath along the waterside lined with trees.
recess corners  In search of places where pupils could feel at ease the so-called ‘round school’plan was designed. Six benches were scattered around the school building. The designs were based on the archetypical represention of a bench.They were made of robust, rustproof steel through which a pattern of geometrical forms was pierced and was inspired by Persian carpet designs and tablecloth patterns from grandmother’s days.   design outdoor furniture, 2007 |
